Patna, 1st June. Two candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the biennial polls to Rajya Sabha in Bihar filed their nomination papers on Tuesday.
Satish Chandra Dubey, a former MP from Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha seat, is contesting for his second consecutive term in the Rajya Sabha, while this will be the parliamentary debut of Shambhu Sharan Patel, who is the BJP’s state unit secretary.
Polls will be held for five Rajya Sabha seats. Besides the two Bharatiya Janata Party candidates, RJD’s Misa Bharti and Faiyaz Kazmi, and JD(U)’s Kheeru Mahto have also filed the nomination papers.
June 3, 2022 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Polling, if required, will be held on June 10.
