Bengaluru, 13th Feb. Aero India 2023, Asia’s largest aero show, will be inaugurated today in Bengaluru by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 14th edition of the event will showcase indigenous equipment and technologies in order to foster partnership with foreign companies.
Visitors will be captivated by breathtaking air shows and exhibitions during the five-day aero show.
Daily aerial demonstrations will be conducted by an F-16 Fighting Falcon duo, one of the United States Air Force’s (USAF) leading fighter jets. The US Navy’s most advanced frontline carrier-based, multirole strike fighters, the F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornets, will be on static display.
The event is expected to attract 809 companies from 98 countries.
Though the event will be dominated by the military, it will also highlight India’s efforts to accommodate a domestic travel boom and rebuild its international brand. “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities” is the theme of Aero India 2023.
Under the Narendra Modi government’s “Make in India” policy, manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin Corp, Boeing, and Airbus have been required to share technology or produce more than parts in the country.
251 agreements worth 75,000 crore are expected to be signed between various Indian and foreign defence companies.
