BD Mishra Takes Oath as New Governor of Meghalaya

Shillong, 4th Oct. BD Mishra was sworn in as the new governor of Meghalaya on Tuesday at a ceremony in the Raj Bhavan here.

Mishra, a former Indian Army brigadier, has been the governor of Arunachal Pradesh since 2017 and has also been given the additional charge of neighboring Meghalaya.

Satya Pal Malik, who served as governor of Meghalaya until October 3, was succeeded by him.

The function was attended by Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh and senior cabinet ministers.

Conrad K Sangma, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, welcomed the new governor to the state.

“Congratulations and best wishes to @BrigMishraJi as he takes charge as the Governor of Meghalaya. Look forward to his counsel and support….We welcome him to our beautiful state!” he tweeted.
