Bangladesh Violence: Intel Alert in All Border Districts of Bengal

Kolkata, 18th Oct. Considering communal violence in Bangladesh and the Fateh-Dwaj-Dahm (birth celebrations of Eid Milad un-Nabi/Prophet Muhammad) following the immersion of Durga idols in West Bengal, the state intelligence has ordered all districts, especially those bordering Bangladesh. An alert has been issued to the police to remain sensitive to avoid any untoward incident.

Detailed alerts issued by Additional Director General (Intelligence Branch) were sent to DG, ADG (Law and Order) and all SPs and Commissioners, which said, further inputs received show that there have been some incidents of vandalism and arson in Durga Puja pandals, Hindu temples in Noakhali district and Chittagong district of Bangladesh, also allegedly vandalized the ISKCON temple in Noakhali.

The alert said, since 13.10.21, social media platforms have been flooded with posts of Durga Puja pandals being vandalized in Bangladesh. Concentrating on these issues, the Indo-Bangladesh border districts have become very sensitive and leaders of various Hindu fundamentalist organizations of India are active and giving press statements and asking the PM of India urging to take action for immediate relief to the Sanatani people of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, condemning the brutal attack on ISKCON devotees by a mob and the killing of an ashram devotee in Bangladesh’s Noakhali, ISKCON Vice President Radharaman Das on Saturday wrote to the United Nations for violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh and requested to release its condemnation and urged to send its representatives to Bangladesh to look into the matter.

He also wrote a letter to PM Modi to intervene in this matter. ISKCON Vice President Radharaman Das said, “We have written to the United Nations and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will hold silent protests against this in all metros including Kolkata.
