Guwahati, 24th June. The Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria, unveiled the book “History of Marwaris of Assam” authored by Dr. Shyam Sundar Harlalka and published by Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam. The launch event took place at Sangh Sadhak Madhukar Limaye Hall in Alok Bhawan, Bharlumukh, Guwahati at 5 pm on June 19.
Governor Kataria, in his address, highlighted the significant contributions of the Marwari community to both India and Assam. He also paid tribute to Jyoti Prasad Agrawal during his speech.
The ceremony commenced with the National Anthem and a ceremonial lamp lighting. Girin Roy, Co-Organisation Minister of Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam, moderated the event. Hemant Dhing Majumder, National Secretary General of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalpan Yojana, attended as the chief guest, delivering a comprehensive speech on the objectives of the organization.
The book, published in Assamese, Hindi, and English, aims to document the history of the Marwari community in Assam. The event concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tapan Kalita, Secretary of Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam.
