New Delhi, 19th Jan. Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is set to represent India at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos. His participation will spotlight India’s inclusive development model and transformative digital journey, reflecting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ahead of his departure, Shri Vaishnaw highlighted India’s achievements in driving inclusive growth, particularly for marginalized communities. He emphasized the government’s efforts in financial inclusion, basic infrastructure, and technological accessibility. “Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, we’ve prioritized the empowerment of those at the bottom of the pyramid—providing bank accounts, gas connections, toilets, clean water, and robust infrastructure. This approach has brought transformative change and is a model the world is keen to understand,” he said.
A key focus of India’s participation at WEF will be its investment in social, physical, and digital infrastructure. Shri Vaishnaw underscored the role of the Digital India initiative in democratizing technology and fostering citizen empowerment. India’s innovative digital architecture, which includes tools like Aadhaar, UPI, and digital public goods, has set a global benchmark for leveraging technology to drive progress and equity.
The discussions at Davos will also highlight India’s efforts to bridge the digital divide and its potential as a global leader in sustainable development. Shri Vaishnaw stressed that India’s vision for inclusive growth is rooted in ensuring opportunities and access for all citizens, regardless of socioeconomic background.
India’s presence at WEF 2025 aims to attract investment, strengthen global partnerships, and showcase the country as a frontrunner in sustainable development and technological innovation. Through these efforts, the government seeks to reinforce India’s position as a model of inclusive and transformative growth on the global stage.
