New Delhi, 20th August. Ashok Kumar Singh, an IAS officer of the 1999 batch from the Kerala cadre, has officially assumed the role of Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
The ceremony took place at the ESIC Headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.
Singh brings with him a wealth of experience, having served in various capacities both at the state and central levels. Before this appointment, he was the Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department in the Government of Kerala, where he played a crucial role in the governance and management of district and state-level organizations.
At the national level, Singh has held several significant positions, including Executive Director in the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, and Director in the Ministry of Finance.
An accomplished academic, Singh holds an M.Phil from the National Defence College in New Delhi and is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.
His diverse expertise and leadership are expected to further strengthen ESIC’s role in providing social security and health insurance to India’s workforce.
