Asaduddin Owaisi Visits Mukhtar Ansari’s Family at His Home in Ghazipur

The chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, paid his respects to Mukhtar Ansari by visiting his home in Ghazipur.

Using the social media platform X, he expressed his condolences for Mukhtar Ansari’s family and wrote, “Today, we went to Mukhtar Ansari’s home to pay our respects to his family. During this challenging time, we offer our support to his family, followers, and loved ones.”

In a subtle dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he stated, “Insha Allah, light will shine through this darkness. If you are Pharaoh, then Moses will surely come.”

Mukhtar Ansari, a former gangster turned politician, was laid to rest at the Kali Bagh burial ground in Ghazipur on Saturday. His body was buried near his parents’ graves.

There was a significant security presence in Ghazipur for his funeral. Police officers were stationed along the route from his home to the cemetery.

After the postmortem examination, Mukhtar Ansari’s body was taken to his residence in Ghazipur on Friday night. The postmortem report indicated that he passed away due to cardiac issues.

Mukhtar Ansari died at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. His family, however, alleged that he was poisoned.

According to the hospital’s official statement, Mukhtar Ansari arrived at the hospital around 8:25 pm on Thursday. A team of nine doctors tried to save him, but he ultimately passed away.

Furthermore, a three-member team has been appointed to conduct a magisterial investigation into Mukhtar Ansari’s death.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate in Banda issued orders for the judicial inquiry.

In April 2023, Mukhtar Ansari was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai by an MP-MLA court. He was later given a life sentence on March 13, 2024, for using forged documents to obtain a firearms license in 1990.
