Armenian Parliamentary Delegation Meets President Murmu to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

New Delhi, 16th Dec. A parliamentary delegation from Armenia, led by H.E. Mr. Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Welcoming the delegation, President Murmu highlighted the enduring cultural connections between India and Armenia, underpinned by shared democratic values. She emphasized the robust cooperation between the two nations on global platforms and appreciated Armenia’s membership in the International Solar Alliance and its participation in the Voice of Global South Summits.

President Murmu reaffirmed India’s commitment to aiding Armenia through various capacity-building and skill development initiatives under development partnership programs. She also stressed the importance of expanding bilateral trade and enhancing both physical and financial connectivity between the two countries.

Highlighting the role of parliamentary dialogue, President Murmu noted that such interactions foster mutual understanding of governance and legal frameworks. She expressed hope that the Armenian delegation’s visit would further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

This meeting marks a step forward in deepening ties between India and Armenia, focusing on collaboration across trade, capacity building, and multilateral cooperation.
