An Office Must Be Sanctum of Purposeful Work, Not Just Structure: Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat

ABVP Inaugurates Central Office ‘Yashwant’ in Delhi to Boost National Unity and Youth Dialogue

New Delhi: In a landmark development, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today inaugurated its new central office ‘Yashwant’ in the heart of Delhi. Dedicated to national unity and youth dialogue, the nine-storey building will serve as the national headquarters of ABVP’s flagship initiative Students’ Experience in Interstate Living (SEIL).

The office was inaugurated by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohanrao Bhagwat, who described the structure as a “sanctum of purposeful work” and a symbol of the ideals of knowledge, character, and unity, envisioned by ABVP ideologue Yashwantrao Kelkar. “An office must not just be a building but a space that lives through its purpose,” he said.

The inauguration was attended by a host of eminent personalities including former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, senior BJP leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, RSS leaders Sunil Ambekar, Dr. Krishna Gopal, and Arun Kumar. Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, J.P. Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, and Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, also marked their presence.

ABVP National President Prof. Rajsharan Shahi highlighted that ‘Yashwant’ is a tribute to the commitment of countless volunteers over decades. “This office will act as a launchpad for a new phase in youth-led nation-building,” he said.

ABVP General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki emphasized the organisation’s pan-India presence, with over 2 lakh members in the Northeast alone. He noted the building’s strategic significance in fulfilling a vision that dates back to the 1980s.

The SEIL initiative, founded in 1966, aims to foster cultural integration between the Northeast and the rest of India. The new facility includes dormitories for Northeast students, a 150-seat auditorium, a research library, and a terrace garden. A 12-foot Ashtadhatu statue of Swami Vivekananda and a marble engraving of Goddess Saraswati stand as spiritual symbols within the complex.

With the unveiling of ‘Yashwant’, ABVP has reaffirmed its commitment to national harmony, cultural unity, and empowering the youth through education and engagement.
