Ranchi, 7th Jan. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a public rally in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Saturday and is expected to meet with state BJP leaders during the day, according to a party functionary.
The union home minister arrived in the state capital Ranchi on Friday evening, prompting increased security.
Shah will fly from Ranchi to Chaibasa later in the day to address the public meeting.
Deepak Prakash, state BJP president, former Jharkhand chief ministers Babulal Marandi and Raghubar Das, and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu met with party workers and local leaders to ensure the success of Shah’s program.
“All arrangements have been made for the union home minister’s scheduled rally at Tata College, Chaibasa on Saturday,” Prakash said.
Arjun Munda, a Union minister and former Jharkhand chief minister, arrived in Chaibasa on Friday with other leaders to oversee program arrangements.
Shah’s visit is seen as crucial in light of the parliamentary and Jharkhand assembly elections in 2024.
In the last general election, the saffron party lost the Chaibasa Lok Sabha seat to the Congress.
After addressing the rally, Shah will fly to Chhattisgarh from Ranchi.
