Lucknow, 5th Jan. Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state for corruption and poor governance. He announced the party’s ambition to establish a ‘PDA’ government—an acronym for “picchde, Dalit, alpsankhyak” (backwards, Dalits, and minorities)—by winning the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Speaking at a meeting with SP’s national and state-level frontal organizations at the party headquarters, Yadav emphasized the need to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. “To form a Samajwadi Party government, we must intensify our efforts at the booth level. People are fed up with the BJP, which is anti-democratic and anti-Constitution,” Yadav said.

The SP chief accused the BJP of fostering corruption and destructive policies. “The BJP’s governance has led to the collapse of law and order, skyrocketing inflation, and widespread discontent among farmers, youth, laborers, businessmen, teachers, and advocates,” he alleged.

Taking aim at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yadav said, “It is unfortunate that the state is ruled by someone who is not a real Yogi but a corrupt Yogi. He is neither honest nor committed to serving the people.”

Yadav reaffirmed his party’s adherence to the ideologies of Ram Manohar Lohia, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. “Socialists have always fought for social justice. Through a caste census, we will ensure proportional participation for everyone,” he stated.

He accused the BJP of attempting to alter the essence of democracy by undermining the Constitution. “The BJP’s policies are eroding the democratic fabric of our nation,” Yadav claimed.

The meeting was attended by key SP leaders, including national general secretary Shivpal Yadav, Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Mata Prasad Pandey, legislative council leader Lal Bihari Yadav, national secretary Rajendra Chaudhary, and state unit chief Shyam Lal Pal.
