Mumbai, 29th Sept. India’s Adani group has changed the auditor of its main UK subsidiaries to the smaller London-based business Ferguson Maidment & Co. after the resignation of former auditor Crowe UK in March.
Ferguson Maidment & Co audited the annual accounts filed by Adani Energy Holdings and its subsidiaries with the British government agency Companies House last month, according to the Financial Times.
Deloitte withdrew as Adani Ports’ auditor in August, citing concerns about specific transactions highlighted in the short-seller Hindenburg’s research and the company’s refusal to conduct an independent investigation.
The billionaire Gautam Adani-led conglomerate later stated that Deloitte’s reasons for leaving the company as auditor were “not convincing or sufficient to warrant such a move.”
