Mumbai, 13th August. On its 28th anniversary, the Adani Foundation, in collaboration with Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd and Maharashtra Arthik Vikas Mandal (MAVIM), has facilitated loans worth ₹1.10 crore to 56 Enterprise Self Help Groups (ESHGs) in Mumbai’s Malad East and West suburbs.
The loans were granted as part of the Credit Achievement Programme 2023-2024, supporting 438 women from underprivileged backgrounds. These ESHGs have been diligently repaying their loan amounts and recently won second prize at a MAVIM-organized Credit Achievement Programme for their timely instalment payments.
Suman Parab, a member of the Adishakti SHG in Malad, expressed her gratitude to Adani Foundation, Adani Electricity, and MAVIM for their ongoing support, which has enabled many homemakers to earn a monthly income. “This support has boosted our confidence and ensured a bright future with financial security,” Parab said.
A spokesperson for the Adani Foundation highlighted that, in addition to facilitating loans, the foundation is providing extensive training opportunities under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme. The ultimate goal is to create ‘Lakhpati Didis’ through the Swabhimaan project, ensuring women in these communities achieve financial independence and security.
Adani Electricity and Adani Foundation have jointly launched the Swabhimaan CSR project within their power distribution area in Mumbai to fulfil their social responsibilities, promote sustainable and integrated development, and enhance the quality of life for the community.
To further ensure the success of these ESHGs, the Adani Foundation, Adani Electricity, and MAVIM regularly organise meetings and programmes. These sessions provide updates, support, and solutions to challenges related to business expansion.
