According to the West Bengal BJP chief, “rapes and murders have become a trademark of Mamata’s Bengal”
GG News Bureau,
West Bengal, 16th April. State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Sukanta Majumdar slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the law and order situation on Friday, saying regular incidents of murders and rapes “have become a trademark” of the Trinamool Congress-ruled West Bengal.
“Goons encouraged by the TMC to steal panchayat election votes have turned into Frankenstein monsters who are not afraid of the government or the police. Mamata Banerjee’s comments in which she levelled accusations against the victim and her character have disgraced the Bengali community “Majumdar stated to ANI.
“A formal complaint should be filed against the Chief Minister. She is unable to call the victim’s character into question. The situation has deteriorated to the point where if there are no rape cases every day, there will be no sense of being in Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal. Murders and rapes on a daily basis have become a feature of Mamata’s Bengal “added the BJP chief.
Banerjee questioned whether the girl was raped or had a love affair that resulted in her pregnancy on Monday.
In response to the rape case, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that the bureaucracy is politicised and that the preamble to the Constitution is ignored in the state.
A 14-year-old girl died earlier this month after being allegedly gang-raped in Hanskhali, Nadia district. In the case, the victim’s family accused the son of a Trinamool Congress panchayat leader.
In another case, a minor tribal girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by five men in Bolpur city of Birbhum district on Thursday night while returning from a village fair; West Bengal police said on Friday.
Narendra Nath Tripathi, Superintendent of Police of Birbhum District, stated that the incident occurred in the Shanti Niketan police station area while the girl was returning from the fair with a male friend.
“The girl and her male companion went to Charak Mela. They stopped at a nearby park on their way back and were sitting when five men allegedly attacked them. The men kidnapped the girl and led her to the bank of a river, where they raped her in turns. The victim has been taken to Bolpur Sub-divisional Hospital for a medical examination “he stated.
A police force has been deployed at the scene of the crime on the orders of Birbhum SP, and a search for the accused has begun.
The police have filed a case against at least five men. The case is being investigated further.
