New Delhi, 17th August. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated two separate cases against Rakesh Sharma, the former Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation Limited, and others for alleged corruption and backdoor appointments.
The FIRs accuse Sharma and the proprietors of Shree Tex Engineers from Maharashtra of corrupt practices related to the procurement of looms and the illegal appointment of 14 officials within the corporation.
Additionally, Sharma is charged with misusing his authority by approving these appointments without proper advertisement, thereby granting undue benefits to the selected individuals.
Investigations are currently underway to uncover the full extent of the alleged malpractices.
