ACB Files Corruption Case Against Sisodia, Jain Over School Classroom Construction

New Delhi- The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has registered a case against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and former Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, alleging a massive corruption scandal related to the construction of classrooms in government schools across Delhi.

The ACB claims the scam involves approximately Rs 2,000 crore and pertains to the construction of 12,748 classrooms and associated buildings during the AAP government’s tenure. The case was filed after the ACB received the required sanction under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act from the relevant authority.

The agency has reported significant irregularities and cost escalations throughout the project. “Not a single work was completed within the prescribed timeframe,” an official release stated. The ACB also alleged that consultants and architects were appointed without adhering to proper procedures.

Furthermore, the agency flagged that the cost escalations were purportedly implemented through these irregularly appointed consultants, leading to an inflated budget.

Both Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain have been under scrutiny in separate corruption cases over the past year. Sisodia is currently facing investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Jain was previously arrested in a money laundering case.
