AAP’s Sanjay Singh Threatens Legal Action Against BJP Over Voter Claim On His Wife

New Delhi, 30th Dec. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said on Monday that he will file a defamation case against BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya over allegations that his wife, Anita Singh, is not a registered voter in Delhi.

The BJP leaders claimed that Anita Singh’s vote in Delhi was “invalid” and “illegal” as she is allegedly a registered voter in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Citing an affidavit reportedly filed by Anita Singh, Tiwari and Malviya have demanded the Election Commission investigate this “serious violation.”

Sanjay Singh dismissed these claims as false and retaliatory, accusing the BJP of attempting to delete his wife’s name from the electoral roll. At a press conference, Singh said, “When I raised the issue of Purvanchali voters’ names being deleted in Parliament, BJP retaliated by targeting my wife. I will take legal action against them for spreading lies.”

Purvanchali Voters Issue
Singh alleged that BJP leaders, including party president JP Nadda, have demeaned Purvanchali voters, referring to them as “Rohingiyas” and “Bangladeshis.” He stated, “These people have lived in Delhi for decades, contributing to its development, yet the BJP is trying to disenfranchise them.”

He also claimed that his wife’s name was removed from the electoral roll in Sultanpur earlier this year and asserted that she voted in Delhi during the Lok Sabha elections. “Manoj Tiwari should check the Election Commission’s website instead of spreading misinformation,” Singh added.

BJP Responds
In response, Manoj Tiwari accused the AAP of politicizing the issue and demanded a broader investigation into alleged voter fraud involving Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators in Delhi. “We have evidence, including an affidavit, proving that Anita Singh is a registered voter in Sultanpur. If her name isn’t in Delhi’s rolls, it can’t be deleted,” Tiwari said.

The BJP leader also criticized Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of creating a false narrative about Purvanchali votes being targeted.

Legal Action
Sanjay Singh reiterated his plan to file a defamation suit, stating, “Both Manoj Tiwari and Amit Malviya will have to answer in court for insulting my family and spreading baseless accusations.”

The dispute has intensified political tensions ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, with both parties using the controversy to galvanize their voter bases.
