New Delhi, 12th August.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia convened a crucial meeting with senior party leaders on Sunday to strategize for the Delhi Assembly Elections, which are scheduled for early next year.

The meeting, held at the party headquarters, was attended by prominent AAP figures including Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, party MP Sanjay Singh, and Sandeep Pathak. Gopal Rai, who also serves as the convener of the party’s Delhi unit, was a key participant in the discussions.

Sandeep Pathak, another senior party leader, indicated that the strategy session focused on the upcoming Assembly polls and the current political climate in Delhi. He revealed that Sisodia will continue his engagements with the party’s legislators on Monday and with party councillors on Tuesday. Additionally, Sisodia is set to commence a foot march on August 14 to connect directly with Delhi’s residents.

Pathak criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that its primary agenda was to undermine AAP’s efforts and disrupt its operations. Despite the challenges, Pathak asserted that AAP remains resilient and continues to perform well.

Manish Sisodia, the former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, had been incarcerated for 17 months following his arrest in the Excise Policy case last year. He was released on bail on August 9 after the Supreme Court criticized the prolonged detention without trial, which it deemed a violation of Sisodia’s right to a speedy trial.

Sisodia’s release has provided a boost to the AAP, which has been managing without its national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, as well as senior leader Satyendar Jain. Pathak noted that despite these challenges, the party is making strides in other states and has emerged stronger.

Regarding Sisodia’s future role, Pathak stated that discussions are ongoing about potential positions for Sisodia within the party or government. Additionally, he highlighted that AAP’s campaign in Haryana, where the party plans to contest all 90 assembly seats, is progressing well.
