AAP Leader Anokh Mittal’s Wife Brutally Killed in Armed Robbery

Rurka, Punjab.

In a horrific incident, Lipsi Mittal, wife of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and businessman Anokh Mittal, was brutally hacked to death by armed robbers late Saturday night. The attack took place while the couple was returning home from a dinner.

According to police reports, five armed robbers intercepted the Mittals’ vehicle near Rurka, launching a savage attack on the couple with sharp-edged weapons. While Lipsi Mittal succumbed to her injuries at the scene, Anokh Mittal suffered serious wounds while attempting to resist the attackers. He is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.

The robbers fled the scene with the Mittals’ car and other belongings, prompting authorities to launch an immediate investigation.

Senior police officials have assured strict action against the perpetrators. “We are investigating the incident from all possible angles and will ensure justice is served,” a senior officer told the media.

Anokh Mittal, a prominent businessman in Punjab, had joined the AAP four months ago, inducted by MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi. His entry into politics had brought the Mittals into the spotlight in both business and political circles.

In an unrelated development, Punjab police arrested two Indians deported from the United States after a plane carrying 119 deportees landed in Amritsar on Saturday. The detainees, Sandeep and Pradeep, were wanted in a 2023 murder case.

A Patiala police team apprehended the duo upon their arrival at Sri Guru Ramdas Airport. Both hailed from Rajpura town and had previously been declared proclaimed offenders in the case.
