AAP Councillor Alleges Kidnapping by BJP Leaders

New Delhi, 1st Sept. In a dramatic turn of events, a councillor from Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that he was kidnapped today by a group of BJP leaders. Ramchandra, who had recently switched from AAP to BJP and then returned to AAP within four days, claimed that he was forcibly taken from his house by BJP members and threatened with investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

“In the morning, five or six people came to my house, took me to the BJP office in a car. There they threatened me with CBI and ED. My leaders called the police commissioner, and they got me released,” Ramchandra told reporters after his sudden reappearance following hours of tension.

Ramchandra also asserted his loyalty to AAP, stating, “I am not scared of CBI and ED. I am a true soldier of Arvind Kejriwal.”

However, Delhi BJP’s media in-charge, Praveen Shankar Kapoor, denied the allegations, dismissing them as baseless. “Councillor Ramchandra is not in your party. We have nothing to do with it, but it is certain that he is sitting in his house, and you people are spreading rumours,” Kapoor wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Earlier in the day, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia had also taken to X, accusing the BJP of using threats and coercion against Ramchandra. “BJP threatened councillor Ramchandra ji with ED and CBI. When he did not get scared, BJP goons picked him up in a car and took him away,” Sisodia claimed in response to a video shared by AAP colleague Sanjay Singh.

The video featured Ramchandra’s son, Akash, alleging that his father was abducted by a local BJP leader and his aides, who threatened to frame him using central investigative agencies. “BJP’s open hooliganism in the country’s capital,” Singh’s post read, describing the incident.

In response to the incident, AAP held an urgent press conference, where party leader Dilip Pandey expressed concern over Ramchandra’s disappearance. “I am searching for him on the road, his phone is switched off,” Pandey said. AAP also noted that the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shahbad Dairy police station had been contacted, but no kidnapping case had been registered at the time.

The incident has added fuel to the ongoing political tensions between AAP and BJP in the capital, with both parties trading accusations and denials.
