Jhunjhunu, 19th Jan. In new trouble for the Rajasthan Congress, party leader Sachin Pilot attacked the Ashok Gehlot government over the exam paper leaks case on Wednesday.
While not naming the Rajasthan CM, Sachin Pilot, speaking at an event in Jhunjhunu on Wednesday, said, “We welcome the government’s decision to investigate the paper leaks case. However, it’s hard to believe that no Congress leader or government official is not involved in the leaks.”
Taking a shot at the CM, with whom he had a public spat in the aftermath of the Rajasthan political crisis in 2020, Pilot said the government should explain the “magic” that resulted in the leaked exam papers reaching students without the involvement of any leader or government official.
“It has been said that the exam papers were kept inside a vault. So one wonders what magic went into them landing up with students without the involvement of any (Congress) leader or politician,” the former Rajasthan deputy CM said.
He also stated that responsibility in the paper leaks case should be determined, and those involved should be identified and prosecuted.
Pilot had also raised concerns on Tuesday about the leak of question papers for Rajasthan recruitment exams.
“I was saddened and anguished after learning of the paper leaks,” he said at a press conference on Tuesday. Repeated paper leaks jeopardize our youth’s future. No matter who is to blame, a thorough investigation should be conducted to prevent future paper leaks.”
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) cancelled the competitive examination for the recruitment of second-grade teachers for 2022 in December. The examination has been rescheduled for January 29.
Rajasthan has been rocked by at least a half-dozen major examination paper leaks since the Congress took power in 2018.
The BJP-led opposition has accused the Gehlot administration of failing to address the problem.
