As the conflict escalates, US President Joe Biden signed and announced a new $150 million weapons package for Ukraine on Friday, according

This package will assist Ukraine in repelling a Russian invasion by providing it with additional artillery munitions, radar, and other equipment. It is the most recent in a series
According to Reuters, the new $150 million package will include 25,000 155mm artillery rounds, jamming equipment, counter-artillery radar, field equipment, and spare parts.
In a statement, Biden said, “Today, the United States is continuing our strong support for the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their country against Russia’s ongoing aggression.”

Since Russia’s invasion, the US has sent approximately $3.4 billion in armaments to Ukraine to assist them in their time of need.

It consists of “Ghost” drones, howitzers, anti-tank Javelin missiles, anti-aircraft Stinger systems, and ammunition.

The new weapon transfers will be funded by the remaining $250 million in Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA).
In the event of an emergency, the PDA allows the president to transfer excess weapons from US stocks without obtaining congressional approval.

Last month, Biden proposed a $33 billion aid package for Ukraine. The president needs Congress’s permission to send it.

“Congress should quickly provide the requested funding to strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield and at the negotiating table,” Biden said, adding that the most recent weapons authorization had “nearly exhausted” the drawdown authority funding.
