Faridabad, 15th May. NIT MLA Neeraj Sharma, who raised the issue of Rs 200 crore without work payment scam of the Municipal Corporation in assembly, said on Saturday that corruption will not end only by catching Chief Engineer Daulatram Bhaskar. Big crocodiles have to be controlled by reaching the roots of corruption.

Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma in a letter to Director General of State Vigilance Shatrujit Kapoor said that Daulatram Bhaskar Bhaskar is only one link in such a scam. Till the Vigilance does not reach even the chief members of this episode, till then the corruption of the Municipal Corporation will not be exposed completely.

Notably, Neeraj Sharma, raising the issue of corruption of the Municipal Corporation in the budget session of the Legislative Assembly, had taken a vow on March 22 that he would not wear stitched clothes on his body till the time accused are arrested. Apart from this, he won’t wear shoes as well.

It was only after this pledge that the state government first arrested Satbir Contractor, the main accused in the Rs 200 crore scam, and later arrested Chief Engineer DR Bhaskar late Friday evening. Bhaskar had earlier also filed an anticipatory bail petition but it was rejected by the district court.

MLA Neeraj Sharma appeals to director general of state vigilance bureau on the following issues:

– Recovery of scam money

– Arrangements should be made to get the work done at the earliest.

– If there is any payment, there is involvement from the accounts branch to the corporation commissioner. The functioning of the officers and employees deployed during the scam should also be investigated.

-They have   also contributed to the scams that have taken place in the municipal corporation so far.

– In the record rooms which have been burnt in the Municipal Corporation, these accused should also be interrogated strictly.
