In Maharashtra, the ruling Shiv Sena slammed AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for visiting the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb at Khuldabad in the Aurangabad district.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led party questioned Owaisi’s move and warned that he would not be tolerated if he attempted to “create problems in society.”

On Thursday, Owaisi visited the tomb before speaking at a rally in Aurangabad.

Former Shiv Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire expressed strong opposition to Owaisi’s visit to Aurangzeb’s tomb, saying, “The motive behind Akbaruddin Owaisi’s visit to Aurangzeb’s tomb cannot be understood.” We recall the statements he made earlier. Nobody visits Aurangzeb’s tomb. But if Owaisi is going to cause problems in society, we will not tolerate it.”

Shiv Sena MLC and Aurangabad district unit chief Ambadas Danve also chastised Owaisi for his visit. “It is unsurprising that Owaisi visited Aurangzeb’s tomb.” Nizam, Razakars (the paramilitary volunteer force deployed by the Nizam of Hyderabad to resist the princely state’s integration with India during 1947-48), and earlier Islamic dynasties all thought the same way. Owaisi went to the tomb in accordance with that ideology. “Those Muslims who care about the welfare of the nation, however, should avoid AIMIM and Owaisi,” Me Danve said.
Imtiaz Jaleel, AIMIM’s MLA from Aurangabad, defended the leader’s decision.

“There are numerous tombs in Khuldabad, each with its own history. Anyone visiting Khuldabad should pay a visit to Aurangzeb’s tomb. There is no need to interpret this differently “Jaleel stated.
