New Delhi, 3rd May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to Jagadguru Basaveshwara on the sacred occasion of Basava Jayanthi.
The Prime Minister also shared his speech from 2020 in which he spoke about Jagadguru Basaveshwara.
PM Modi tweeted, “Tributes to Jagadguru Basaveshwara on the sacred occasion of Basava Jayanthi. His thoughts and ideals keep giving strength to millions of people across the world. Sharing a speech of mine from 2020 in which I spoke about Jagadguru Basaveshwara.”

Basava Jayanthi is a holiday traditionally observed by the Lingayats of the Indian state of Karnataka. It marks the birthday of Basavanna, a 12th century poet-philosopher and the founding saint of the Lingayat tradition.
