According to sources, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will meet with Telangana party leaders today in the evening to discuss the current political situation as well as brainstorming on the state’s Assembly elections scheduled for next year.

The meeting’s main agenda will also include a discussion of the Paddy procurement issue.

The meeting with the party’s senior leaders will take place at Rahul Gandhi’s residence.
Rahul Gandhi is meeting with Telangana party leaders for the second time in seven days. The meeting takes place at a time when state Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is pursuing national ambitions and urging parties to form a non-BJP and non-Congress alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Notably, in the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, the Congress formed an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party. But they were unable to prevent the return of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s KCR government.

Earlier this month, Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy dismissed the possibility of an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party, stating that the grand old party will form an alliance with any party except Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s because “he is not trustworthy.”

“Congress would never form an alliance with KCR and his TRS party because he is untrustworthy.” He was last seen in 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. “We can trust any other leader or party except KCR and TRS,” Reddy told ANI.
