Uttar Pradesh: Priyanka Gandhi Promises to Give Smartphones, Scooties to Girls in UP

Lucknow, 21st Oct. Congress general secretary and Uttar Pradesh unit in-charge Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has announced to give smartphones and electronic scooties to girls if the party comes to power in the state.

In a tweet in Hindi on Thursday, she said, “I met some girl students who said they needed smartphones for studies and security. I am happy that with the consent of the manifesto committee, UP Congress today decided to give smartphones to girl students who passed intermediate and electronic scooties to those who passed graduation.

This is a big step of Congress to attract women and get votes. Earlier, she had announced to give 40 percent tickets to women in Uttar Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi had announced on Tuesday that her party would give 40 per cent tickets to women in the upcoming assembly elections. She said that all women who want to bring change in the system are welcome to come forward and contest elections.

Any woman who wants to contest the election can apply till November 15, she announced at a press conference.
