PM Modi Expresses Grief Over Hyderabad Fire Tragedy, Announces Ex-Gratia for Victims

: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in a devastating fire incident in Hyderabad, Telangana. In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi extended his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

“Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon,” the Prime Minister’s post read.

As a mark of support for the affected families, PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of those who lost their lives. Additionally, ₹50,000 will be provided to those who sustained injuries in the incident.

The fire, which broke out at a commercial establishment in Hyderabad, claimed multiple lives and left several injured, triggering widespread shock and grief across the nation.

Rescue operations were promptly undertaken by emergency services, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway. Authorities are also assessing the extent of the damage and ensuring medical attention for the injured.

The Prime Minister’s swift response underscores the central government’s commitment to providing relief and support in times of tragedy. Leaders across political lines and citizens from all walks of life have also expressed their condolences over the unfortunate incident.
