New Delhi- A delegation from the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (JIBCC), led by its Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The 17-member delegation included senior leaders from major Japanese corporate houses across key sectors such as manufacturing, banking, airlines, pharmaceuticals, plant engineering, and logistics.
During the meeting, Yasunaga briefed PM Modi on the upcoming 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, scheduled for March 6, 2025, in New Delhi. Discussions focused on boosting high-quality, low-cost manufacturing in India, expanding production for global markets—particularly Africa—and enhancing human resource development and exchanges.
Prime Minister Modi appreciated Japan’s strong commitment to ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ and welcomed Japanese businesses’ expansion plans in India. He also underscored the significance of cooperation in skill development, highlighting its role as a key pillar of India-Japan bilateral relations.
