Fire Guts 15 Tents at Maha Kumbh Mela Site, No Casualties Reported

Prayagraj, 30th Jan. At least 15 tents were destroyed in a fire near Chamanganj Chowki outside Sector 22 of the Maha Kumbh Mela area on Thursday. Officials confirmed that there was no loss of life in the incident.

Chief Fire Officer (Kumbh) Pramod Sharma said the fire broke out in the afternoon, and firefighting teams managed to extinguish it swiftly. “Due to the lack of road access, fire engines faced difficulty reaching the site. However, the fire was completely brought under control,” he stated.

According to Sharma, the local Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) indicated that the burnt tents were unauthorized.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation,” Sharma added.

Authorities have urged caution as preparations for the grand religious gathering continue.
