New Delhi, 25th Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday warmly welcomed President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, emphasizing the strengthening of India-Indonesia ties.
In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted that Indonesia had been the guest nation at India’s first Republic Day celebration, and now, as India celebrates 75 years of being a Republic, President Subianto’s presence marks a historic occasion.
During their interaction, PM Modi discussed a wide array of topics under the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in security, defence manufacturing, trade, FinTech, AI, and more. The leaders also explored opportunities in sectors such as food security, energy, and disaster management.
PM Modi emphasized Indonesia’s importance in India’s Act East Policy and expressed India’s support for Indonesia’s membership in BRICS. The two nations also pledged to continue collaborating across various multilateral platforms to further strengthen their partnership.
