Indian Navy Celebrates ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ with Grand Event in New Delhi

New Delhi, 16 Jan: The Indian Navy will proudly celebrate the ‘Year of Naval Civilians’ on 17 January 2025 at the Dr DS Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi. Hon’ble Raksha Mantri will preside over the event as the Chief Guest, reflecting the significance of this historic celebration.

Key Highlights of the Event

The ceremony is designed to honor the achievements and contributions of Naval Civilians who play a pivotal role in supporting the Navy’s mission.

  1. Exhibition Highlighting Naval Civilians

A specially curated exhibition will showcase photographs and paintings, providing a glimpse into the lives, roles, and accomplishments of Naval Civilians. This inspiring display highlights their indispensable contributions to various facets of Naval support operations.

  1. Recognition of Excellence

The Chief Guest will interact with recipients of the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards, who have exhibited outstanding skills, innovation, and dedication.

  1. Address by the Chief of the Naval Staff

The Chief of the Naval Staff will deliver an address, emphasizing the integral role of Naval Civilians in achieving the Navy’s goals and celebrating their remarkable contributions.

  1. Screening of Commemorative Film

A short film will be screened to encapsulate the spirit, dedication, and achievements of Naval Civilians, offering deeper insights into their invaluable contributions.

  1. Launch of ‘Jee Jaan Lagan Se’ Song

An exclusive song, ‘Jee Jaan Lagan Se’, composed and performed entirely by Naval Civilian employees, will be a key highlight of the event. The song, with lyrics, music, and vocals by Naval Civilians, is accompanied by musicians from the Naval Central Band and mentored by Cdr Satish Champion, Director of Music (Navy). The live performance underscores the seamless integration of Civilian and Uniformed personnel.

  1. Awards for Exemplary Service

The Hon’ble Raksha Mantri will confer meritorious and cash awards to select Naval Civilians in six categories, recognizing their exceptional service and contributions to the Navy’s success.

The celebration reflects the Navy’s unwavering commitment to acknowledging the collaborative efforts of both Uniformed and Civilian personnel.
