Mumbai, 16th Jan: Prominent Bollywood and South Indian film actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times at his residence in Bandra on Thursday. The 47-year-old star, known for his versatile performances across industries, was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery.
According to medical reports, a three-inch long sharp object was removed during neuro surgery, followed by cosmetic surgery. Saif has been shifted to the ICU for recovery and is reportedly out of danger. Doctors have assured the media that he is recuperating well.
The incident has disrupted Saif’s professional commitments, including the shooting schedules of several films. He is currently involved in Siddharth Anand’s “Jewel Thief: The Red Sun Chapter”, which will face delays due to the actor’s recovery. Saif, who has eight films in the pipeline, has a busy year ahead.
One of his highly anticipated projects is “Race 4”, where producer Ramesh Taurani has brought Saif back into the franchise after a hiatus in the third installment, which featured Salman Khan. The actor is also part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit”, starring Telugu superstar Prabhas, as well as Kortala Siva’s “Devara: Part 2”, where he shares screenspace with Jr NTR.
Other upcoming projects include Tamil director Balaji Mohan’s “Click Shankar”, a film with renowned director Priyadarshan, and Sanjay Gupta’s “Shootout at Byculla”. Speculations also suggest a potential collaboration with his daughter Sara Ali Khan, though no official confirmation has been made.
Director Siddharth Anand and other industry colleagues have visited Saif at the hospital to extend their support. The film fraternity has expressed concerns about his well-being, with many wishing him a speedy recovery.
Police are investigating the stabbing incident, but further details about the attacker and motive are yet to be revealed. Fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with messages of support, hoping to see Saif Ali Khan back on screen soon.
