Ballia, 29th Dec. Uttar Pradesh’s Panchayati Raj Minister, Om Prakash Rajbhar, on Saturday claimed that Lord Hanuman belonged to the Rajbhar caste.

Addressing a public meeting after the foundation-laying ceremony for Maharaja Suheldev’s statue in Vasudeva village, Ballia, Rajbhar said Hanuman’s courageous acts, including rescuing Lord Ram and Laxman from Patal Puri, highlight his Rajbhar lineage.

“Hanuman ji, born in the Rajbhar caste, was the only one with the courage to bring Ram ji and Laxman ji back from Patal Puri when no one else could,” asserted Rajbhar, who leads the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), a BJP ally.

Rajbhar also took aim at the opposition, accusing Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) of insincerity toward Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

“The Congress, which now speaks about the Constitution, had jailed countless leaders and journalists during the Emergency,” Rajbhar said. He further criticized SP for its past hostility toward Ambedkar, alleging that it once planned to replace Lucknow’s Ambedkar Park with public toilets.

“Today, these parties showcase their love for Ambedkar. Was he not a revered figure yesterday?” Rajbhar asked, accusing SP of abandoning development projects initiated in Ambedkar’s name and causing setbacks for the people.

The remarks came during the ‘bhoomi pujan’ for a statue honoring Maharaja Suheldev, a historical Rajbhar leader known for his resistance against invasions. Rajbhar emphasized the need to highlight the contributions of Rajbhar leaders and traditions.

The event underscored Rajbhar’s ongoing efforts to rally support for his community while targeting political rivals ahead of upcoming elections.
