New Delhi, 23rd Dec. A landmark one-day national workshop titled “Indian History, Culture, and Constitution” was jointly organized by the Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Yojna Samiti, Delhi Prant, and the Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi. The event attracted over 200 scholars, professors, and researchers, fostering a rich interdisciplinary dialogue on India’s historical and constitutional heritage.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Balamukund Pandey, Organizational Secretary, ABISY, set the tone with a thought-provoking address on India’s enduring legacy and cultural ethos. The workshop’s distinguished guest, Dr. Om Upadhyay, Member Secretary, ICHR, highlighted the nation’s historical narrative through the lens of the 22 original paintings depicted in the Indian Constitution. In his presidential remarks, Prof. Hiraman Tiwari, Chairman of CHS, JNU, delved into the historical and cultural underpinnings of the Constitution, emphasizing its role as a living document rooted in Indian values.

Engaging presentations by young historians, including Dr. Prateek Kumar, Dr. Mamta Tyagi, Dr. Hemlata Yadav, Dr. Rajkumari Mishra, and Dr. Upasana Tiwari, enriched the intellectual rigor of the event. Their sessions explored topics ranging from constitutional symbolism to the evolution of Indian cultural and social norms, bringing fresh perspectives to historical scholarship.
Dr. Narendra Shukla, Project Coordinator of the Comprehensive History of Bharat Project (ICHR) and General Secretary, Delhi Prant, facilitated the workshop seamlessly. The event also owed its success to the strategic planning and coordination of the organizing team led by Dr. Prateek Kumar, Dr. Pradip Upadhyay, and members of the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana Samiti, Delhi Prant.

The discussions highlighted the Constitution’s deep connections to India’s history and culture, examining its role in fostering democratic values and social cohesion. The event’s multidisciplinary approach provided participants with valuable insights into contemporary constitutional practices and cultural heritage.
Concluding the day, Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Tripathi, National Secretary, ABISY, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, praising the participants for their contributions to an intellectually stimulating workshop.
