Chandigarh, 21st Dec. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday emphasized the transformative potential of alumni engagement during the 5th Global Alumni Meet of Panjab University.

Addressing a distinguished gathering that included dignitaries such as Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, journalist Shekhar Gupta, and disaster response expert Atul Karwal, the Vice President lauded the alumni’s contributions to various fields and their role in shaping national progress.

Highlighting the importance of alumni associations, Dhankhar called for structured networks to leverage their expertise for institutional and national advancement. He stressed the pivotal role of academia, innovation, and research in India’s evolution as a global leader.

Reflecting on India’s economic resilience, he praised the country’s exponential progress in sectors such as banking, infrastructure, and tourism under inclusive governance.

In his remarks, Dhankhar urged the alumni to take a proactive role in fostering critical thinking and innovation among students while aligning academia with national goals.

He concluded with a call for unity and nationalism, advocating for a collaborative approach to propel India toward its centenary milestone of independence in 2047.
