Murshidabad, West Bengal, 9th Dec. At least three people were killed and several others injured in an explosion during the alleged manufacturing of illegal crude bombs in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, police reported on Monday.
The blast occurred late Sunday night in Khoyertala village under the Sagarpara gram panchayat. The deceased were identified as Sakirul Sarkar (32), Mamon Mollah (30), and Mustakin Sheikh (28). Police revealed that the explosion took place at Mamon Mollah’s residence, where the bombs were being prepared. The impact of the blast destroyed the house’s roof.

“Initial investigations suggest the victims were recently involved in smuggling phensedyl. The injured individuals fled the site before authorities arrived,” a police officer stated.
Locals attempted to rush Mamon Mollah and Sakirul Sarkar to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital, but both succumbed to their injuries en route.
A significant police presence has been deployed in the area, and a bomb squad is conducting a thorough investigation at the site.
The incident comes shortly after a similar explosion in November in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, where four people died, and five others were injured when a blast caused three houses to collapse.
