New Delhi, 7th Dec. On the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid floral tributes at Prerna Sthal in the Parliament House Complex.
The tribute ceremony saw the participation of several Union Ministers, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries. Secretary-General of Lok Sabha Utpal Kumar Singh and Secretary-General of Rajya Sabha P.C. Mody also joined in paying homage to Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Prerna Sthal, the venue for the event, featured upgraded facilities and arrangements, including a massive 750 sq. meter tent with seating for 900 people—larger than ever before. Information about the statues of India’s great leaders at the site is now available digitally, making it an informative experience for visitors. Smooth entry was facilitated through the Parliament Library Gate, and a large number of people visited to honor Babasaheb.
In his tribute, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tweeted, “I pay tributes to the nation builder, guardian of social justice, and Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas. His dream of an egalitarian society, his invaluable teachings, and his incomparable contributions in the making of the Constitution will always inspire us.”
The occasion highlighted Babasaheb Ambedkar’s legacy as a champion of social justice and a visionary who laid the foundation of an inclusive and egalitarian India.
