New Delhi, 17th Nov. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to release its manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections by mid-December, party leaders confirmed on Sunday. The manifesto committee will begin its series of meetings with various sections of society starting Monday to gather feedback.
The committee, led by Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, aims to cover around 50 categories of people to prepare a comprehensive manifesto that addresses the needs of all sections of Delhi’s population. “Our objective is to prepare a manifesto that serves the interests of every citizen,” Bidhuri stated.
As part of its preparations, the BJP also announced the formation of an 11-member “chargesheet committee” tasked with highlighting the alleged failures of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Headed by Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, the committee includes senior BJP figures such as former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, national secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and other prominent leaders like Kapil Mishra and Richa Pandey.
The first meetings of the BJP’s election coordination and manifesto committees were held at the party office on Sunday, with Delhi BJP election in-charge Baijayant Panda issuing initial guidelines. Panda urged the committees to accelerate their work in order to streamline preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February.
Bidhuri further mentioned that the manifesto committee would consult various stakeholders, including traders, small manufacturers, residents of unauthorised colonies, slums, and professionals. The final version of the manifesto is expected to be ready by mid-December, giving the party enough time to effectively promote it during the election campaign.
With Delhi’s 70 assembly seats up for grabs, the BJP is gearing up for a robust campaign to challenge the AAP, as the party works to finalize its strategy for the crucial upcoming polls.
