Mumbai, 14th Nov   The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai received a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon from an unidentified caller, sparking swift security measures. The caller alleged that a passenger named Mohammad, bound for Azerbaijan, was carrying explosives.

The bomb threat call was made to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control room at Terminal 1 (domestic) around 3 PM. Following this, the CISF immediately notified the Sahar Police Station, which dispatched officers to the airport to conduct a thorough investigation.

Sources reveal that the caller abruptly ended the conversation without providing flight details, leaving authorities to conduct a broad security sweep. Airport security has since been heightened as a precautionary step, with police verifying passenger details to ensure public safety.

This incident adds to a recent wave of hoax bomb threats targeting Indian airlines. Only two weeks ago, Nagpur Police detained Jagdish Uikey, a 35-year-old from Maharashtra’s Gondia, suspected of making multiple false bomb threats. Uikey, who has a prior arrest and is reportedly the author of a book on terrorism, was identified after hoax emails were traced back to him.

Investigations into the latest bomb threat at Mumbai airport are ongoing, with efforts underway to trace the anonymous caller.
