Trump Gains Edge in Key Swing States Over Harris

Washington D.C., 6th Nov. As the race for the White House intensifies, experts predict that seven crucial battleground states will determine whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump secures the keys to the Oval Office. Six hours into the vote counting, Trump has already claimed victories in Georgia and North Carolina, two key swing states, and is currently leading in five others — Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada.

Initially, Harris had established leads in Pennsylvania and Michigan, but Trump soon overtook her, widening the gap in these vital states. In Pennsylvania, the state with the highest number of electoral votes among swing states, 93% of the ballots have been counted, and Trump holds a 3-point lead over Harris. Trump is also leading in Wisconsin, Nevada, and Michigan, with a narrow advantage in Arizona.

If Trump holds onto his lead in all seven battleground states, it would mark a significant upset, as Democrats had won six of these states in the previous election. Such a scenario would deliver a clear mandate for the Republicans and a resounding rejection of the Democrats. Known as battleground states, these regions are pivotal in the election, with almost equal support from both parties, making them the deciding factor in the race.

This year’s key swing states include Pennsylvania (19 electoral votes), Michigan (10), Georgia (16), Wisconsin (10), North Carolina (16), Nevada (6), and Arizona (11). At present, Trump is projected to win 247 electoral votes, while Harris trails with 214. Both candidates are striving for the critical threshold of 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.
