New Delhi, 30th Oct. In a bid to drive tourism and strengthen economic growth, the Delhi government on Wednesday approved round-the-clock operations for restaurants in Aerocity, a major hospitality zone near Indira Gandhi International Airport. Already home to several 4-star and higher-rated hotels operating 24/7, Aerocity’s restaurants will now extend their hours, offering increased dining options for both locals and travelers, according to an official statement.
Chief Minister Atishi approved the proposal, citing its potential to attract more tourists and increase government revenue through elevated licensing fees.
“This 24×7 model is expected not only to enhance the visitor experience but also to generate significant revenue for the state,” the statement added.
The move aligns with a similar approach in Gurugram, Haryana, where restaurants have witnessed revenue growth by operating extended hours with additional licensing fees. The approval also follows the recent green light for 24-hour operations at 111 more shops and commercial establishments in Delhi. With these new additions, the total number of establishments authorized for 24-hour operation in the city has surpassed 700.
