CRPF Personnel Shoots Himself in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Sukma, 14th Sept. A 44-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday.

The incident occurred at the CRPF’s 226th battalion camp in Gadiras in the morning. Head constable Vipul Bhuyan, who had resumed duty two days ago after a leave, reportedly shot himself with an AK-47 rifle inside the bathroom. Colleagues discovered him lying in a pool of blood.

No suicide note was found, and the authorities are investigating to determine the reasons behind his drastic action. This marks the fifth suicide by paramilitary personnel in Chhattisgarh in the past three months.

Recent similar incidents include a constable from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Kanker on September 3, another SSB jawan in Durg district on August 27, and a CRPF head constable in Dantewada on August 26.
