Rahul Gandhi: Lok Sabha Elections ‘Not Fair,’ Claims BJP Had Unfair Advantage

Washington, D.C., 10th Sept. During his recent three-day visit to the United States, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised serious concerns about the fairness of the Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of manipulating the electoral process and questioned the integrity of the elections.

Gandhi alleged that before the elections, there was a systematic takeover of institutions, depriving the opposition of a level playing field. “We had no fair grounds for the elections,” he said. He claimed that the BJP had significant financial advantages and that their bank accounts were frozen, with the Election Commission acting in their favor.

He further criticized the electoral process, stating that he does not consider the elections to be free and fair, but rather a controlled process. According to Gandhi, the entire campaign was engineered to allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the nation while designing separate strategies for states where the BJP was weaker.

Gandhi also accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of taking over the education system and claimed that media and investigative agencies were under their control. He emphasized that despite previously raising these concerns, they were not fully understood by the public until recently.

He recounted moments when Modi seemed confident about achieving a substantial majority, stating that during the campaign, it became apparent that they had completely dismantled Modi’s influence. Gandhi highlighted a significant alliance between the government and major corporations, accusing them of betraying the OBC and Dalit communities.

Additionally, Gandhi noted the rising importance of the caste census issue, asserting that poor and marginalized groups have recognized the battle as one between those defending the Constitution and those attempting to destroy it.
