Vice Chiefs of Armed Forces Fly Tejas at Multilateral Exercise in Rajasthan

Jodhpur, 9th Sept. In a display of India’s indigenous defense capabilities, the Vice Chiefs of all three armed forces flew the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas for the first time during the ongoing multilateral exercise “Tarang Shakti” on Monday.

The exercise is being conducted at the Jodhpur Air Force Station from August 29 to September 15.

Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal A.P. Singh, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan of the Navy, and Vice Chief of Army Lieutenant General N.S. Raja Subramani participated in this notable event.

Air Marshal A.P. Singh piloted the single-seater LCA Tejas fighter jet, while Vice Admiral Swaminathan and Lieutenant General Raja Subramani flew in the twin-seater trainer version of the aircraft.

The “Tarang Shakti” exercise, hosted by the Indian Air Force (IAF), is one of the largest multinational military exercises, with eight participating nations and 16 observer countries. The primary objective of the exercise is to enhance interoperability among the participating forces.

According to defense spokesperson Colonel Amitabh Sharma, the exercise is aimed at fostering greater coordination and operational effectiveness among the diverse military contingents.

Additionally, a defense expo will be held from September 12 to 14, showcasing India’s indigenously manufactured weapons and aircraft. This expo aims to explore the global potential of defense exports and promote Indian-manufactured assets among friendly nations.
