Fear of BJP Vanished After Poll Results: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, 9th Sept. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi commented on the Lok Sabha election results, which saw the BJP fail to secure a majority. Gandhi asserted that the results marked a significant shift in public sentiment.

“The fear of the BJP vanished immediately after the poll results. Within minutes, nobody was scared of the BJP or the Prime Minister of India. These are substantial achievements, not of Rahul Gandhi or Congress, but of the people of India who have decided not to accept an attack on the Constitution,” he stated.

During an interactive session with students, Gandhi was questioned about India’s low female labor participation. He attributed the issue to a “bad attitude” among Indian men towards women. “In a large number of Indian males, the attitude towards women is ridiculous,” he said, emphasizing the need for a cultural shift to view women as equals.

He further linked this issue to ideological differences between the BJP and the opposition, stating, “The BJP/RSS believe that women should be confined to traditional roles, while we believe women should be free to aspire to whatever they want.”

Gandhi also discussed unemployment, comparing India’s situation with that of China. He noted that while many countries, including India, struggle with employment issues, others like China and Vietnam do not. He attributed this disparity to a shift in global production.

“The West, including America, Europe, and India, has relinquished the idea of production to China. Production creates jobs, whereas what we and the West focus on is consumption,” he explained.

The BJP swiftly responded to Gandhi’s remarks. Pradeep Bhandari, the ruling party’s national spokesperson, accused Gandhi of favoring China over India.

“Is it because of his MoU with the Communist Party of China that he always bats for China and does not support India? His attacks on the Indian legal system and predictions of social tension are strategies to divide and rule,” Bhandari said.

He also slammed Gandhi’s statements as harmful to Indian society and contrary to Hindu values, asserting that the public had consistently rejected Gandhi and Congress in recent elections and would continue to do so in the future.
