Ukraine Launches Overnight Drone Attack on Moscow and Russian Regions

Moscow, 1st Sept. Ukraine launched an overnight drone attack on Sunday, targeting Moscow and several other Russian regions, according to Russian officials.

A drone heading towards Moscow was intercepted and destroyed in the surrounding region, as reported by Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram.

In addition to the attack on Moscow, at least 12 drones launched from Ukraine were downed over Russia’s southwest Bryansk region, as stated by the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomaz, on Telegram. The acting governor of Kursk, Alexei Smirnov, reported that two drones were also shot down over the Kursk region, which has experienced partial occupation by Ukrainian forces.

Preliminary information from officials indicates that there were no injuries or damage resulting from the drone attacks.
