IICA and HP Launch ‘HP Future Impact Leader – IICA Certified ESG Professional Programme’

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), in collaboration with HP India, has inaugurated the first batch of the “HP Future Impact Leader – IICA Certified Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG) Professional Programme” in Manesar. The launch event marks a significant advancement in cultivating leaders who will champion sustainable and responsible business practices.

Dr. Ajay Bhushan Prasad Pandey, Director General & CEO of IICA, highlighted the programme’s alignment with global sustainability goals, referencing milestones such as the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He emphasized the growing importance of ESG in business, noting that it helps identify cost-saving opportunities, enhances energy efficiency, and minimizes waste.

Dr. Pandey urged businesses to integrate ESG principles into their core strategies to stay competitive and avoid reputational risks. He also acknowledged HP and UNICEF for their support in this initiative.

Mr. Rajeev Nair, Head of Legal at HP India, addressed the legal and compliance aspects of ESG initiatives, underscoring HP’s commitment to sustainability. Ms. Geetanjali Master from UNICEF India highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals.

Dr. Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor & Head of the School of Business Environment at IICA, discussed the programme’s goal to develop ESG professionals equipped with comprehensive expertise in sustainability.

The scholarship-based programme aims to provide participants with the skills needed to lead sustainable initiatives within their organizations. The collaboration between HP and IICA represents a pivotal step towards fostering ESG leadership and promoting a responsible corporate ecosystem.
