Chhindwara, 8th July. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, expressed confidence on Monday that his party would win the Amarwara assembly bypoll, comparing it to the Chhindwara Lok Sabha election.

In advance of the Lok Sabha election in March of this year, Kamesh Shah, the current MLA for the Amarwada assembly seat, decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) instead of the Congress party. As a result, a bypoll is set for July 10.

At CM House on March 29, Shah, his wife Madhavi Shah, and sister Kesar Netam became members of the BJP in the presence of chief minister Mohan Yadav, state BJP leader VD Sharma, and other guests.
The positive outcomes that Amarwara is witnessing—people working and our staff knocking on doors—are a source of great satisfaction. According to the reaction, it is unquestionably true that we would win the Amarwara polls in the same manner that we did the Chhindwara Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Yadav told ANI.

CM Yadav also made a jab at veteran Congressman and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, claiming that the latter had deserted the people of Chhindwara.

“Congress leader Kamal Nath has betrayed the people of Chhindwara. The BJP won for the first time in Chhindwara and now the BJP will create a new record of development in Amarwara and in the state as well,” he added.

The Election Commission set the date for bye-elections last month in order to fill 13 assembly constituencies across seven states. The current MLAs’ resignations or deaths left these seats empty. On July 10, elections will take place, and on July 13, the results will be counted.
In the Amarwada assembly seat by-election, Kamlesh Shah is running under the BJP banner, while Dheeransha Invati is the candidate put forward by the Congress party.

Notably, Kamal Nath and the Congress party have always considered Chhindwara to be their stronghold. In the Chhindwara district, there are seven assembly seats, and every MLA is a member of the Congress party. In addition, the recently held general elections saw the BJP win the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat.
